JOIN THE TEAM
Come and join a few of the over 30,000 global full time volunteers of Youth With A Mission. God has already done so much through us as a movement, and also as an individual family here in Canberra, and we believe He wants to do more. We’ve been through a season of re-pioneering in the last few years, so the stage is set for new initiatives and projects.
YWAM LONG TERM STAFF
If after you finish your YWAM Discipleship Training School (DTS) you’re feeling God is leading you to be here at YWAM Canberra for a longer period of time, we’d love to have a chat with you. There are as many ways to serve here as there are individual giftings, or we’d love to pioneer something new with you! We welcome singles, couples and families of all ages.
We also offer a 2 year Ministry Development School which allows full time YWAM staff volunteers to access specialized development and support alongside their staffing experience.
YWAM SHORT TERM STAFF
You don’t have to commit to serving with us for years. If you’ve finished a YWAM Discipleship Training School (DTS) and would like to come and find out what YWAM Canberra is all about, then we’re keen to have you here as a short term staff volunteer. Come make some new friends, try some new things and find out all the amazing things God is doing through us in the nations and in our local community!
If you're thinking of sticking around for longer, check out our Ministry Development School opportunities.
YWAM MISSION BUILDER
If you have yet to complete a YWAM Discipleship Training School (DTS), but want to get a feel for missions, you can still come to volunteer with us for up to three months. Considering the size of our campus, there are always a variety of things to do!
We also offer free room and board to full time mission builders!

FAQs
Do I share a bedroom/ bathroom with others?
Generally our dorm style rooms are reserved for group bookings, so you will be provided with your own private bedroom.
Bathrooms on the other hand, are shared! We have several single gender and unisex "family" bathrooms scattered across our property.
Do I get paid for serving with YWAM?
Youth With A Mission is entirely staffed by volunteers that raise their own financial support. We will occasionally contract third parties and remunerated them for their goods or services. However, YWAM short and long term staff and mission builders do not get paid by YWAM. YWAM does however offer subsidised board and lodging for staff who live on base and free board and lodging for mission builders. Please enquire with us to find out about staff fees.
Can you cater for special diets?
We often cater for individuals with gluten and dairy intolerances and various food allergies. Just speak with our kitchen to see how we can best support you.
How do I get around?
Getting around is fairly easy. There is a bus stop right outside our back entrance. Plus, there are a few shared base vehicles available for staff use.
What does a typical week look like?
We love to do things together as a community as much as possible so your typical week will include at least one corporate worship time, at least one corporate intercession time, a weekly staff meeting, a weekly community dinner, and weekly work duties. The rest of your working week will depend on the area that you serve in.
There will also be a bunch of spontaneous activities that you can join in with including, games, outings, evangelism, events or just hanging out around the fire pit.
